China Slows Away From Factories

BEIJING—China’s services sector slowed in January, highlighting how the economy is starting the new year on a weak footing.
China official nonmanufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index fell to 53.4 in January from 54.6 in December, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing said on Monday. The federation’s official manufacturing PMI, a companion index, fell to 50.5 in January compared with 51 in December, it said on Saturday.
