Nepalis Hold Vote to Break Deadlock

KATMANDU, Nepal—Millions of Nepalis voted Tuesday for a new constituent assembly that is intended to break the partisan deadlock that has gripped this Himalayan nation since the end of monarchy here five years ago.
An alliance of radical political parties had called for a boycott of the elections, but there was little violence, with tens of thousands of police and other security personnel deployed to protect polling places.
