Typhoon Hits Hong Kong, Southern China

HONG KONG—Typhoon Usagi made landfall in China’s southern Guangdong province on Sunday night, killing two people and bringing heavy rain to the region.
Flights in nearby Hong Kong were canceled, ferry services were disrupted and the government advised its citizens to head home.
At 9 p.m. local time Sunday, the Hong Kong Observatory said Usagi—which earlier in the day was downgraded from a “super” typhoon to “severe”—was about 130 kilometers east-northeast of Hong Kong and moving west at about 22 kilometers per hour.
