As the second day of strikes on the London subway gets under way Thursday, planned talks to resolve the dispute suggest a second stoppage next week might be averted.
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, known as the RMT, and London Underground said talks would take place Friday at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service in the hope of avoiding further industrial action next week.
