LONDON—The Bank of England is likely to start raising its main interest rate in the spring of 2015, policy maker Martin Weale told Sky News in an interview Thursday.
Mr. Weale said he believes he and colleagues on the nine-member Monetary Policy Committee will vote to raise the main rate—currently at an all-time low 0.5%–at that time as part of a gradual tightening of monetary policy.
