London Theaters Owners Check Their Ceilings

LONDON—London’s historic theaters carried out safety checks Friday as authorities investigated why part of the ceiling of the century-old Apollo Theatre collapsed during a performance Thursday night, injuring 79 people, nine of them seriously.
The Society of London Theatre, which represents the booming industry, said that owners met Friday and safety inspections and certificates were up to date in their 52 historic theaters….
