A Homeless Winter in New Delhi

Temperatures dip as low as two degrees Celsius on a winter night in New Delhi. Last year, at least 200 people died of the cold wave that swept northern India, local media reported. In a bid to mitigate damage this year, the Indian government has helped set up 175 night shelters across New Delhi, according to Bhupinder Singh, a senior official at the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board.
