RBI Chief Tries to Calm Markets

MUMBAI—India’s central bank governor Wednesday focused on the brighter side of the economy—narrowing current-account deficit and slowing core inflation—as he tried to calm investors worried over the impact of a likely rollback of easy money policies in the U.S.
India is much better prepared now than a few months ago to handle a rollback of U.S. policies, Raghuram Rajan told reporters.
