Spring Forecast: Edgy Flowers

As New York Fashion Week kicks off, showcasing the spring collections, one of the emerging themes is edgy floral designs.
Sketches from more than a dozen designers suggest a yearning for both softness and toughness. Whether dripping with color, washed out in black and gray, blurred, enlarged, or disguised behind embroideries, these florals evoke spring without looking grandmotherly or sweet.
