JINAN, China—Former political heavy-hitter Bo Xilai resumed his combative stance for the second day of a highly unusual Chinese trial, set to stretch into the weekend, disputing his wife’s testimony and describing her as “crazy” and a person who “often tells lies.”
But prosecutors appeared to gain the upper hand as they zeroed in on the extravagant lifestyle of the couple’s son and presented evidence that a Chinese businessman funded much of it, including a flight on a private jet from Dubai to Mount Kilimanjaro.
