SALVADOR, Bahia—A day after Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff called for an end to violent protests, some 60,000 marchers took to the streets again in the southern city of Belo Horizonte, injuring at least 15 and dashing hopes that the two week old protest movement would subside.
The marchers in Belo Horizonte, the site of an international soccer match and the scene of a week of violent clashes, confronted police firing tear gas and rubber bullets.
